Joseph Tolbert Grant Sr.

Joseph Tolbert Grant Sr., 81, of Lonsdale went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 13. He was born June 14, 1931, in Garland County to the late Tobe Grant and Nettie (Rigsby) Grant. Mr. Grant was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He retired from Arkansas Best Freight after 20 years as a truck driver and was a member of Local Teamsters Union 878. He was a member of Lonsdale Baptist Church. Mr. Grant loved carpentry and the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Sanders and his siblings, Bonnie Lee Chenault, Lilly Neal Grant, Rosa Mae Grant, and Joyce Wilkins. 
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara (Burnett) Grant; two sons, Bert Grant and wife Karen of Conway and Michael Grant and fiancee Lisa Mehlin of Lonsdale; three daughters, Becky Frost of Charlotte, N.C., Beth Shepperd and husband Terry of Lonsdale, and Susan Hinze of Benton; 14 grandchildren, Billy Ray Hanvey, Brian Hanvey, Scott Frost and wife Shandra, Mark Frost, Tasha Baker and husband Jeffry, Madison Grant, Joseph Grant III, Josh Shepperd and wife Sarah, Hannah Swisher and husband Daren, Lauren Hinze, Grant Hinze, Garrett Hinze, Ross Grant, and Abagail Grant; and seven great-grandchildren, Jeffry Baker III, Landyne Grant, Jordan Grant, Jeremiah Shepperd, Hosanna Shepperd, Anna Beth Shepperd, and Ethan Swisher; son-in-law Paul Sanders of Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Jesse Ankney officiating. Burial will follow at Ten Mile Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home.
