Katie Ann Hughes

Katie Ann Hughes, 82, of Benton passed away on Feb. 4, 2014. She was born Aug. 31, 1931, in Star City to the late Palmer A. McFalls and Maude Eleanor Buck McFalls.
Katie was a charter member of Parkview United Methodist Church. She was named United Methodist Women's Woman of the Year and Parkview UMC Mother of the Year in 2008.
Katie was a member of the Arkansas State Women’s Bowling Association and served as a WIBC board member. She was honored as Arkansas Senior Women State Bowling Champion.
Katie is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Robert C. Hughes, Sr.
Katie is survived by her sons, Robert C. Hughes Jr. and wife Kathy, Alan W. Hughes and wife Laurie, and Mark K. Hughes; his brothers, Thomas McFalls and Vernon McFalls; a sister, Bobbie Sue McBryde; grandchildren, Amanda Mills and husband David, Eric Hughes, Patrick Hughes, James Hughes, and Benjamin Hughes, as well as many other family members and friends who loved her dearly and will miss her always.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Parkview United Methodist Church, 514 N. Border St. in Benton with the Rev. Walt Garrett officiating. Pallbearers are Eric Hughes, David Mills, Patrick Hughes, James Hughes, Benjamin Hughes, Jeff Baldwin and George Smith.
A reception visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Smith Family Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St. in Benton, 501-778-7100.
