Kimberly Renee Kimsey-Harness

December 26, 2013

Kimberly Renee Kimsey-Harness, 48, of Benton, was loved and admired by many people. She was the first daughter of Susan Kimsey-Hitchings and Sanford Lee Kimsey. She was born in Benton, on April 1, 1965. She spent her childhood in Hot Springs and Benton. Kim graduated from Benton High School in 1983. During high school, she was a member of the Benton High School Marching Band, where she played the clarinet and performed with the flagline. After high school, she lived in several cities in Arkansas and eventually settled in Conway, with her husband, Richard Harness. Kim worked for Carlton-Bates in the accounting department and recently received the Accounting Department’s Employee of the Year award for 2013. She enjoyed her work and, especially, her co-workers. Kim was many things, but most of all, she was kind-hearted and loyal. She was an animal lover and always made animals a part of her life, rescuing animals from abusive situations. She valued her friends and would help them in any way she could. She was very close to her nieces and nephews and always patient and nurturing to them.
Kim is survived by her husband, Richard Harness; mother and step-father, Susan and Dale Hitchings; two siblings and their respective spouses: Bob and Melissa Kimsey and Beth and Billy Mathys; sister-in-law, Pam Mosley; bother- and sister-in-law, James and Ginger Wilson; nine nieces and nephews, as well as five great-nieces and nephews. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Lee Kimsey.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 27, at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas. There will not be a formal funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local Humane Society.
