Loretta W. Beirne, 79, of Benton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at her home.  Mrs. Beirne was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Curtis to the late Lee Vant and Ella Sue Ball Fletcher.
She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one grandson, Douglas Beirne.
She is survived by her husband, Terrell (Bert) Beirne of Benton; three sons, Richard Beirne (Verlana) of Alexander, Terrell F. Beirne (Diane) of Jacksonville, Fla., and David Beirne (Estrella) of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Ruth Elmore (Dean) of Cabot and Anita Wright (Fred) of Lonsdale; nine grandchildren, Kevin Beirne (Nicole), Diana Smart (Kasey), Emily Beirne, Tyler Beirne, Derek Beirne, Kelsey Beirne, Brad Beirne, Alisha Beirne, and Johnny Kedron; one great-grandson, Noah Beirne; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at New Life Baptist Church with Dr. Sid Samples and the Rev. David Beirne officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. 
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).
Donations in Mrs. Beirne’s honor may be given to the New Life Baptist Building Fund.
