Louis Willard “Butch” Wingfield

Louis Willard “Butch” Wingfield, 70, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 while at home with his wife by his side.  He was born on Oct. 11, 1943 to L.B. and Lucille Wingfield in Spokane, Wash. eventually settled in Glen Rose.  He is a 1962 graduate of Glen Rose High School.  On August 28, 1965, Louis married Nelda McMullen, the love of his life.  Louis was a faithful member of Fairplay Missionary Baptist Church in Glen Rose. He will be especially remembered for his strong faith and selfless nature; all who knew him loved him. 
Louis was preceded in death by his parents; his half-brother, Sonny Turner; his daughter-in-law and grandson, Carla and Joey Wingfield.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nelda; one daughter, Debbie; one son Michael and his wife Christi; two grandsons, Cobey and Lukas; one granddaughter, Ca Leigh and one sister, Nita and her husband Renny Efird, all of Glen Rose.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at Regency Funeral Home.  Officiating the service will be Brother Kenny Mitchell and Brother John Carter.  Burial will follow and held at Fairplay Cemetery with Brother Bob McMullen presiding.  Serving as pallbearers will be Phil Brumley, Waymon Burnett, Benny Scroggin, David Philips, Dean Walters and Charles Raines.  Honorary pallbearers are Renny Efird, Carey Byrd, Ray O’Neal, Arliss Griffin and all his brothers and sisters in Christ at Fairplay Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 21 at Regency Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home.
