Louise H. Rhodes

Louise H. Rhodes, 103, of Benton passed away Feb. 4, 2014.
She was born April 1, 1910, to the late Dave and Eva Collatt. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church.
She taught at Bennett School, provided books for the Gann Memorial Library, was a guard at Reynolds Metals Co. during World War II and worked for the Red Cross for 41 years.
Louise was known as the “Red Cross Lady.”
She loved to read until losing her eyesight. Louise loved talking to people and telling stories to a captivated audience.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Rhodes; a brother, Wayne Collatt; a sister, Doris Collatt; a niece, Katheryn Wood; and a nephew, Jimmy Collatt.
She is survived by her nephew, David Collatt; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; 11 great-great-nephews; five great-great nieces; one great-great-great-nephew;-and a special great-step-nephew, Michael Magby.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at New Rosemont Cemetery. Ashby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
