Madell Griffin Townsend

Madell Griffin Townsend, 84, of Traskwood, passed away Thursday, July 28.  She was born March 6, 1927 to the late Frank Royal and Cynthia Rilla Howie Royal in Mer Rouge, Louisiana.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Griffin, two brothers, Aubrey Royal and Verbal Royal and three sisters, Ina Mae Luker, Muriel Williamson, and Louise Huffman.
 She is survived by one son, Frank Griffin of Traskwood; one daughter, Jean Wilson and husband, Tommy of Drasco; seven grandchildren, Tonya Warner of Traskwood, Kellie Duncan of Yakima, Washington; John Keathley of Carisle, Robin McKnight of Traskwood, Michelle Pillow of Cave City, Reatha Cragin of Cave City, and Tommy Wilson of Wheeling, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine Murphy of Portland, Arkansas, Mavis McCowan and husband, Dub of Gladewater, Texas, and Elizabeth “Tiny” Gulledge of Hamburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services are scheduled for noon, Monday, August 1, at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Bro. Benny Foster officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.
