Mamie G. Sparks

Mamie G. Sparks, 85, of Benton, passed away Friday, Oct. 21.  She was born Feb, 14, 1926, in Malvern. 
Mrs. Sparks was a cook at the Arkansas State Hospital for 33 years. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cleo Haney; her husband, Marion Sparks; a son, Charles Sparks; and a daughter, Ethel Brothern.
She is survived by three sons, Bill Sparks of Benton; Roy Sparks and wife Darlene of Flippin and Clyde Sparks and wife Judy of Benton; two daughters, Helen Redden and husband Warren and Joyce Rogers, all of Benton; a sister, Betty Arnold of Washington state; 36 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Mt. Harmony Cemetery with the Rev. Kim Hammer officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Ashby Funeral Home.
