Man injured during Christmas Eve wreck on Benton Parkway

December 27, 2011

A Saline County man remains in a Little Rock hospital after a single vehicle accident on Saturday in Benton, according to authorities.
Lt. Kevin Russell of the Benton Police Department said around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to Benton Parkway for reports of a wreckless driver. When they arrived, the found a gold color GMC Sierra turned over in a field at Benton Parkway and Pleasant Popular. The driver, 23-year-old Alexander Walls had been ejected from the vehicle.
The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, snapped a telephone poll into two pieces — briefly knocking out power to numerous residents in the area — and the vehicle rolled into the field. Russell said it is unclear at this time how many times the vehicle had rolled, but said a Benton Police Department Accident Reconstruction team is continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Walls was transported to Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock by MedFlight.
Officials at Baptist hospital told The Saline Courier today that he is a patient, but at this time they are not releasing a condition report for Walls.
