Man taken to hospital after crashing into tree
Salem volunteer firefighters and Saline County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene of crash on Scott Salem Road in Benton on Wednesday morning. According to Lt. Scott Courtney with the Saline County Sheriff's Office the wreck happened around 6:40 a.m.
A man, who's name has not been released, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix when he left the roadway and crash viciously into a tree near the entrance of Long Hill housing division.
MedFlight was called to the scene but the victim was transported to a hospital via ambulance. Courtney added that it took firefighters 45 minutes to free the man from the vehicle.
Due to the severity of the accident, Courtney said it could take a few days before details will be released.
