Mary Sue (Miller) Christie, 75, of Haskell passed away Friday, Nov. 16, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton.
She was born Feb. 9, 1937, to the late Rev. Collie Melvin and Ophelia Mae (Borders) Miller in Columbia County. Sue was a very devout wife and Christian woman, she loved the lord and was a member of Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church. She was a wonderful and loving caregiver to many and took care of two handicapped children. Her passion in life was caring for people whom she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Thomas Merle Christie; one son, Tillman Thomas Christie; and one brother, Carl Miller.
Sue is survived by two sons, Scott Christie and wife Jada of North Little Rock and Marcus Wilson and wife Nicole of Hensley; six daughters, Kathy Kumpe and husband Philip of Haskell, Lisa Randals of Texas, Toni Furnell and husband John of North Little Rock, Sharra Berryman and husband Garry of Bauxite, LaVita Bailey and husband Paul of Sherwood and Laura Sloan and husband Phillip of Jonesboro; 23 grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 18, at Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern.
Funeral services was held today, Nov. 19, at Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church Malvern with the Rev. Dennis McClintic officiating.
Burial was scheduled to follow at 3 p.m. today in Salem Cemetery near McNeil.
Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home & Crematory of Sheridan, 1301 S. Rock St., Sheridan.
