Maxine Mildred Martin

Maxine Mildred Martin, 88, of Benton, passed away March 13, 2014.  She was born Sept. 19, 1925, in Traskwood, to the late Lee Roy and Eunice Crooks Callahan. 
Maxine was of the Baptist faith. She worked for Arkansas State Hospital for over 24 years, 15 of which she worked as an L.P.T.N.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Leroy and John Callahan; and a sister, Juanita Callahan.
Maxine is survived by her husband, B.J. Martin of Benton; three sons, Bennie Joe Martin (Joyce) of Lufkin, Texas, Don Edward Martin (Laurie) of Hot Springs, and Stephen Gwen Martin of Lonsdale; two sisters, Martha Ward (Mike) of Fayetteville and Betty Green (Lyndon) of Benton; a sister-in-law, Lois Martin of Benton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Haskell.
Grandsons and Granddaughters will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the funeral home.
