Melba F. Bishop

Melba F. Bishop, age 82, of Benton passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.  She was born Nov. 15, 1931 in Benton. 
Mrs. Bishop was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. 
She graduated from Benton High School in 1949.  After high school, she attended and graduated from Draughon School of Business in Little Rock.
Mrs. Bishop worked at Gunn’s Distributors and was employed for 28 years for the Saline County government. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Fern Lovell.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne M. Bishop; a son, Wayne “Bub” M. Bishop Jr. and wife Missy; two daughters, Lisa B. Berry and Amy B. Ashcraft and husband Dennis; five grandchildren, Barton B. Singleton and wife Danielle, Anna L. Ashcraft, Daniel B. Ashcraft and wife Brittany, Payton E. Bishop and Wayne “Trey” M. Bishop III; and three great-grandchildren, Hallie G. Bragg, Sawyer W. Singleton and Kobe W. Ashcraft.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Spring Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Terry Parrish and the Rev. Kim Hammer officiating. Burial will be at Kentucky Cemetery. 
Serving as pallbearers are Bart Singleton, Daniel Ashcraft, Trey Bishop, Dennis Ashcraft, Terry Jerry and Kim Singleton.
Visitation is set from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Ashby Funeral Home.
