Melvin Lee Hill, 79 of Paron, went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2014, with his family by his side.
Mr. Hill was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Paron to his parents Sam and Mary Hill. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and had a general love for the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and being a Mason, where he enjoyed the job of cooking fish for the Paron Masonic Lodge fish fry.
Melvin was a member of North Fork Baptist Church. He was a very sharp-witted man and was a true joy to spend time with.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Allie Merle Hill.
Melvin leaves behind his wife, Pearline (Penny) Hill and his children, Donna Lee Winfrey and husband Glenn of Oklahoma City, Okla., Steven Lynn Hill of Austin, Texas, and Mark Lane Hill and wife Kim of North Little Rock.
Also surviving are grandchildren Samantha Russell and Dalton, Daylon, Drayson and Durham Hill; two stepsons, Tommy and Steven Carneal; his brother, Alvin Hill and wife Margo of Russellville; a special sister-in-law, Margaret Elliott, along with many other friends and relatives, who will always miss him.
A celebration of life will be held for Melvin at 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant.
Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at the funeral home.
