Michael 'Mike' Hammett Pittman

Michael “Mike” Hammett Pittman, 49, of Longview, Texas, died unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his residence in Longview. He was born in Memphis, Tenn., on Nov. 6, 1964, to the late Sam Allen and Sarah Gray (Bernhard) Pittman.
Mike served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked for Faith Communications. Mike loved playing the guitar, enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing and watching his favorite sports teams, especially with his nieces and nephews.
Mike is survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, John B. and Marla Pittman of Hideaway, Texas, and Sam Allen IV and Missy Walsh Pittman of Coppell, Texas. “Uncle Mike’s” nieces and nephews are Johnny Bernhard Pittman Jr., Anna Kate Pittman and Gray Douglas Pittman, all of Hideaway, Texas, and Sam Allen Pittman V, Sarah Margaret Pittman and Elizabeth Walsh Pittman, all of Coppell, Texas.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, Texas, with John Pittman and the Rev. Rick Ivey of First United Methodist Church of Lindale officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale.
