Mike Hardin

Mike Hardin, 51, of Benton passed away on Aug. 14, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He spent his final weeks lovingly surrounded by his family and close friends. Mike was born in Little Roc, on July 14, 1961. He graduated from Benton High School in 1979 and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1983, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in business management.
He began his career with WalMart Stores Inc. in 1983 and continued to work for WalMart for 28 years. The last 20 years were spent in the Benton store, where he had many friends and enjoyed talking with the shoppers in Benton.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Benton. He loved fishing at Lake Ouachita, working in his garden and was an avid supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Mike is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susanne Sims Hardin of Benton; his parents, Robert and Betty Hardin of Benton; three sisters, Kelly LaMendola and husband Charles of Burleson, Texas, Chris Ann May and husband John of West Grove, Pa., and Jan Jones and husband David of Benton; a brother, Joe C. Hardin of Valrico, Fla.; his in-laws, James and Frances Sims, Karen and Calvin Lusby, and Cindy and David Bowe; seven nieces, three nephews and one great-nephew.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Dr. David Jones and the Revs. Mark Norman and Victor Green officiating..
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.Thursday, Aug. 16, at Ashby Funeral Home.
