Odale Gentry

Odale Gentry, 77, passed away on Aug. 24 in Alexander. He was born Feb. 1, 1935, in Bauxite to Amores Wyatt and Flora Ellen Gentry. He proudly served his country as a Marine in the Korean War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 14000. He worked for several years for the city of Benton, drove a truck and was a mechanic during most of his working years. Odale was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sue Gentry, and his parents.   
He is survived by one daughter, Debra Johnston and husband Gary of Alexander; two sons, Jeff Gentry and wife Ruthie and Marlon Gentry, all of Benton; a granddaughter, Kristy Byrd and husband Chuck of Benton; a great-grandchild, Paige Byrd; two brothers, Sam Gentry of California and Harold Gentry of Shannon Hills; and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at New Summit Cemetery in Benton.
Arrangements are by Peaceful Haven Funeral Home.
