Oscar Lee Lowe, 84, of Benton died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. He was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Lubbock, Texas. Oscar was retired from Reynolds Metals Co., a Mason of Lodge No. 34 in Benton, and a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
He was a Baptist by faith, but regularly attended Parkview United Methodist Church in Benton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lowe and Audrey Henry Cook; his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Lowe; a sister, Patricia Ann Cook; and a brother, Billy Joe Lowe.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Spickard of Benton; two grandchildren, Michael Lee Cousin and wife Karla of Hernando, Miss., and Kimberly Whitely and husband Johnathan of Camden, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Cousin, Michael James Cousin, Alexis Whitely and Kirsten Whitely; a very special friend, Gertude Springer; two sisters, Shirley Greer and husband Dwight and Kathy Gladden and husband Jim; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Rosemont Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ashby Funeral Home.
