Patricia Ann Garrett

Patricia Ann Garrett, 63, of Benton, passed away Friday, Feb. 10.  She was born April 21, 1948, in Nebraska City, Neb.
Mrs. Garrett taught school in the Bryant School District and then went on to be a teacher/counselor in the Harmony Grove District.
She was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Benton, the National Education Association and the Arkansas Education Association.
Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Edgar VanWinkle, Sr. and Rena Louise Willis VanWinkle; and her brother, Melvin Edgar VanWinkle II.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Richelle Garrett of Perryville and Rachelle Springer and husband Glenn of Cabot; four grandchildren, Elijah Austin Garrett, Kylee Dawn Callahan, Ashlee Ann Springer and Jack Dugan Springer; the father of Richelle and Rachelle, Richard Alan Garrett of Traskwood; a nephew, Melvin Edgar  VanWinkle III of Benton; her best friend, Vonda Russell of Benton; and her beloved dog, Josh Jack Garrett.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at Ashby Funeral Home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
