August 27, 2014

Benton police are looking for the person responsible for vandalizing Benton High School.

On Monday, school staff reported some of the glass in the rotunda area at the school had been broken.
"The glass was broken by what appeared to be two bullet holes through it," said Lt. Kevin Russell, Benton Police Department spokesperson.

A surveillance video showed "the suspect in the case driving a small motorcycle and firing two rounds toward the rotunda area before speeding off at approximately 12:23 a.m. on Saturday," Russell said.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 501-778-1171 or 501-315-TIPS. Crime tips also may be submitted via the Benton Police Department application.
