Possible thunderstorms predicted for Central Arkansas

The National Weather Service calls for a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today in Saline County, with wind gusts as high as 25 mph.
Forecasts of rainfall and thunderstorms continue tonight and throughout the weekend, with the NWS calling for possible severe storms on Saturday night.
The possible storms are part of a predicted threat that will extend over a large area from North Texas northward into Wisconsin and Minnesota, according to Accuweather.com. The greatest threat for tornadoes will extend from northern Missouri southwestward into northeastern Oklahoma, including Kansas City, Springfield, Mo., and Tulsa, Okla.
