Robert Edward Phillips

Robert Edward Phillips, 91, of Benton, passed away on Jan. 22, 2014. He was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Marquette, Mich., to the late Harold and Ethel Phillips.
Robert served in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was a master watch maker and was employed as a groundskeeper at the Saline County Courthouse.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Burnett Phillips; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Joyce Shelnutt; his caregiver, Tammy Pruitt, and her son, Casey Croy.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Bauxite Cemetery with Brother James Coward officiating. Ashby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
