Robert M. Scott, 86, of Benton passed away Monday, Aug. 13. He was born March 14, 1926, in Saline County (Salem Community).
Robert was a farmer and real estate broker and a member of the Saline County Realtors Association. His family was twice named Saline County Farm Family of the Year.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Benton, where he was longtime choir member and a longtime teacher and leader for the Men’s Bible Class.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton W. and Ida Belle Bard Scott; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Chastain.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Medlock Scott of Benton; three sons, Robert M. "Bob" Scott and wife Waynette Gambill Scott of Jeffersonville, Ind.. James "Sam" Scott of Benton, and Timothy Wayne "Tim" Scott and wife Kathy Roper Scott of Bentonville; a brother, Milton Bard Scott and wife Margaret Elmo Scott of Benton; a brother-in-law, Randall Chastain of Benton; grandchildren, Brittany Marie Wilson, Whitney Robert Scott, Nickolas Wayne Scott, Kristin Mayer and Jarrod Chandler; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at First United Methodist Church in Benton. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery on Congo Road in Benton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Ashby Funeral Home..
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Market St., Benton, AR 72015.
