Robert Manning Jones, age 82, of Bryant passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was born May 11, 1931, in Hope, Arkansas.
Robert graduated from Henderson State University and was a member of Kappa Sigma Kappa. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Bryant First United Methodist Church.
Robert owned and operated a construction company with his son in Bryant for more than 20 years.
He was an avid runner and once completed the Houston Marathon.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bailey and Mary Jones; his sister, Mary Lee Taggart; his brothers, Coleman Jones and John Paul Jones; and his wife of 54 years, Virginia Nash Jones.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Regina Jones of Farmington., and Kurt and Jennifer Jones of Bryant; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Woody Wilson of Little Rock; his sister, Betty Mason of Colorado; and his dog, Rocky.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ashby Funeral Home.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Old Rockport Cemetery in Malvern.
