Royce William Wray

Royce William Wray, 92, of Benton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20.  He was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Bauxite.
Mr. Wray served in the U. S. Marine Corps. On Jan. 3, 1942, his unit was the first to be sent to the South Pacific and stayed for 33 months.
He retired from Southwestern Bell and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Benton. 
Mr. Wray was preceded in death by his parents, Tobe and Della Wray; and two sisters, Lula B. Besancon and Floyce Holland.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Marie Wray; two sons, Bobby William Wray and Ronnie Everett Wray; a sister, Violet Russ; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at First Lutheran Church in Benton. Burial will be inPinecrest Memorial Park.
Visitation is set from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Ashby Funeral Home.
