Ruby Burkett Henry Dorrell

Ruby Burkett Henry Dorrell, 77, of Alexander went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 22, at her home. She was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Lonoke, to her late parents, Carlee and Pearl Cooper Burkett.
Ruby was a retired Realtor and had owned her own construction business, R.L. Hays.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2256 and was of the Methodist faith. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Ashton Dakota Garrett; one sister, Penny Brown; and one niece, Jenne Brown.
She is survived by her three children, Brenda Wilson and husband Dick, Mike Evatt and wife Theresa and Terry Evatt; a special niece, Angel Ive and husband Jerry; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Highway 5 North, Alexander, with Chaplain Kim Hammer and Jerry Ivey officiating.
Family comments: The family wishes to express special thanks to Ruby’s best friend, Doris Dennis, Saline Memorial Hospice RN Troy Smith and CNA Sara Mejia. In the words of Ruby, “Do not grieve for me, be happy; for I am in the arms of my heavenly father.”
