Funeral services for Ruby Elizabeth Nielsen, 87, of Jacksonville, Texas, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, Sept.12, at East Side Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Texas, with the Rev. Calvin Gould officiating. Burial will be held at Delamar Cemetery in Manning, Ark., on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m.
Mrs. Nielsen passed away Friday, Sept. 9, in Jacksonville, Texas. She was born July 14, 1924 in Manchester, Ark.
Mrs. Nielsen held a doctorate degree and she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Dr. E.G. Nielsen; her parents, Elijah Bennett and wife Ollie; her brothers, Roy Bennett and Burl Bennett; an dher sisters, Elsie Woodard and Edna Bradshaw.
She is survived by her sons, Doug Nielsen and wife Debbie of Benton and Roger Nielsen and wife Janice of Greenville, Texas; a daughter, Sheila Hicks and husband Kenneth of Jacksonville, Texas; and a sister, Betty Moore of Seattle, Washington.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 11, at Autry Funeral Home, in Jacksonville, Texas, 1025 S.E. Loop 456.
