Rumors that controversial Entergy project might be relocated prove to be unfounded

August 29, 2012

Entergy Arkansas construction employees erect a transmission line pole that is part of a high-voltage system being put in place adjacent to Bernard Holland ball park in Benton. Rumors that the controversial project's location might be changed within a 500-foot threshold apparently proved to be unfounded. Crews at the scene this morning said they had not been informed of any planned changes in the prescribed route. No representatives of Benton Utilities were at the scene today, but observing the work was Jim Partridge, a property owner who strongly objects to the high-voltage line because of its potentially harmful effects on children. Partridge and wife Missy have created flower gardens and butterfly gardens that are frequented by area school children.
