Tasha Lenard, 24, charged with felony drug fraud

June 28, 2014

A Saline County woman was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing prescription narcotics intended for residents at the health-care facility where she worked.

Tasha Lenard, 24, of Bryant, was taken into custody after turning herself in to the Saline County Detention Center.

She is charged with two counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or theft, a Class D felony.
Her arrest followed an investigation by the Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. Lenard has been released on a $10,000 bond.

She formerly worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Arkansas Health Center in Benton. According to Attorney General Dustin McDaniel's office, Lenard is accused of taking for her own personal use at least two doses of morphine and 10 methadone tablets that had been prescribed for two residents of the facility.
Lenard voluntarily surrendered her nursing license, McDaniel's office reported.
