Teresa Gail Swan Johns, 47, of Benton, died Friday, April 6, 2012 at the Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. Mrs. Johns was a native of Crossett and a resident of Benton for the past 19 years. She graduated from Crossett High School in 1982. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Benton Service Center for 5 years.
She was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle in Benton and a member of the Lupus Foundation. She was a very charitable and caring person, an avid Razorback fan and loved Razorback football.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd & Laverne Howard Kelley and Scott and Fay Eubanks Swan.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Maurice “Bubba”Johns of Benton; a stepdaughter, Brandy Johns of Fordyce; her parents, Bennie and Alice Kelley Swan of Crossett; two sisters, Debbi Smith of Ore City, Texas and Sonya Powell of Hamburg; a step-granddaughter, Madeline; five nephews and one niece.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the First United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Jay Emmerson and Rev.Phillip Swan officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroad Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mickey Smith, Donny Powell, Jon Smith, Jacob Smith, Andy Talbot and Dale White. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation, Arkansas Chapter, 220 Mockingbird, Hot Springs, AR 71913. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg. Online guest book at Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at the church in the fellowship hall.
