UPDATE: Woman arrested in connection with mother's death

Linda Stingley, 65, was last seen Monday night.

The daughter of a woman found dead Wednesday has been arrested in connection with her mother's death.

Linda Stingley, 65, of Batesville was last seen leaving work Monday night and later was reported missing.

Stingley's body was found in a rural area outside of Malvern, more than 100 miles from her home.

Her daughter, Jerrie Lyn Acklin, 40, was been arrested and is facing a murder charge.

Acklin is currently detained at the Independence County Sheriff's Office and her bond has been set at $500,000, said Independence County Sheriff Steve Jeffery.

Stingley's belongings reportedly were found in Bryant Wednesday, said Sgt. Todd Crowson, Bryant Police Department spokesperson.

The body has been submitted to the state medical examiner's office for autopsy, Jeffery said.
Multiple agencies were involved in the investigation and include Independence County Sheriff's Office, Arkansas State Police and Bryant Police Department.
