Vance B. Hogue

Vance B. Hogue Jr., age 84, of Benton passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2013. 
He was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Winchester, Ark. 
Mr. Hogue was retired from Arkansas Best Freight as an Over the Road Driver.
He was a member of Dumas United Methodist Church and a retired Teamster.
Mr. Hogue was preceded in death by his parents, Vance B. Hogue Sr. and Ida Mae Brown Hogue; a daughter, Jennie Hogue; six siblings, Florence Walton, Fred Hogue, Betty Lou Haisty, Emma Hogue, Viola Wheetley and Rita Hogue; and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Hogue.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Jean Hogue of Benton; three children, Betty Jo Taylor of St. Louis, Mo., Johnny Hogue (Karen) of Kimberling City, Mo., and Judy Wooten of Benton; six grandchildren, Jennie Barron (Todd), John Hogue, Jr. (Caroline), Jason Taylor (Dalena), Travis Wooten, Allison Hogue and Kelsie Merrill (Travis); 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his beloved poodle, Pierre.
Visitation will be begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Ashby Funeral Home, preceding the 11 a.m. funeral service. The Rev. Kim Hammer will officiate.
Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
 Family comments:  He loved camping and fishing at Lake Oauchita, particularly catching crappie and catfish.
