By Courier Staff Dan Greenberg of Little Rock has announced that he will seek a second term in the state House of Representatives.
Greenberg, a Republican, represents District 31, which stretches from Bryant and Hot Springs Village in Saline County to Otter Creek and west Little Rock in Pulaski County. “My service to the state Legislature hasn’t changed my conservative values,” he said. “Just as before, in my second legislative term I intend to be a strong voice for lower taxes, individual freedom, traditional values and ethics in government.” Greenberg, 42, is a lawyer, a law professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law and a businessman. His company, Dan Greengberg Editorial Services, provides writing and communications services. During the 2007 session, Greenberg wrote five bills that became law. They include laws to expand disclosure requirements for political candidates, support the rights of police officers who lawfully own and use firearms, protect those who rescued people in danger from being sued and fix some unconstitutional provisions of the state’s election code. In the House, he serves on the Transportation and State Agencies committees and is the vice chairman of the State Agencies’ Constitutional Issues subcommitee. Greenberg served on the Pulaski County Quorum Court for two terms before his election to the House. He lives in the eastern part of District 31 with his wife, Marjorie, their sons, Jacob and Robert, and dog Captain.
