By Whit Jones Courier Editor They’ve been called tomorrow’s leaders. More accurately, they are tomorrow’s leaders today.
They are the members of the third annual Leadership Saline County class and they spent part of their day Thursday with the media in activities coordinated by Jim Perry, Courier publisher. It was a full day for class members, who participated in the following activities: •Toured the Courier and had a group photograph taken by Matt Burks, staff member. •Toured the studios of KATV-TV, Channel 7, in Little Rock. •Heard Tom Larimer, executive director of the Arkansas Press Association, discuss media relations in the Courier TV95 studio. •Saw Ricky Walters, Courier production manager, and his crew print souvenir editions of Thursday’s newspaper. •Participated in a panel discussion with Courier staff members Whit Jones, Robert Shearon, Melissa Walls, Kristal Kuykendall and Lynda Hollenbeck. The Leadership Saline County program is a cooperative effort of the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce and Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce.
