Tuesday, 19 February 2008 |
A sign of hope in the form of a rainbow illuminates the 25-year-old Truth Tabernacle church on Stonehedge Trail in Salem community as it burns this morning. Fire departments from Benton, Bryant and Salem responded to the fire. MedTran ambulance personnel also responded, along with a crew from First Electric Cooperative. Art DeAscentis, who has been pastor at the church for 21 years, said the congregation totals 60 members. The pastor predicted that church members will choose to rebuild at the same location. Damage estimates were not available this morning. The fire started around 8:15. Stonehedge Trail is just off Zuber Road. (Courier photo by Matt Burks)
