Downtown Benton and several community and church groups will gather on Saturday on the Saline County Courthouse lawn for the “Downtown Benton Easter Adventures” to help children search for the golden easter egg and much more.

The event will begin at the courthouse gazebo with the arrival of the Easter bunny at 10 a.m. to take pictures with children until noon. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera to capture the moment.
Children are then invited to hunt for Easter eggs around the Saline County Courthouse starting at 11 a.m. Depending on their age, children can participate in one of three egg hunts. Those 4 and younger will be able to hunt first at 11 a.m. Children ages 5-8 will hunt at 11:30 a.m., and children ages 9-12 will hunt Easter eggs at noon.
Thousands of plastic, prize-filled eggs will be hidden around the courthouse, including grand prize eggs with a $50 Young Savers Cash Dividend from Union Bank and birthday parties from Party Central, Leah’s Gymnastics and Market Street Events Center.
Golden ‘K’ Kiwanis Club members will be assisting with the Easter egg hunts. An amusement area featuring a giant slide, obstacle course and a Moon Walk will be set up on Sevier Street in front of the courthouse. There will be a one-time cost of $3 per child for all of the amusement activities. In addition, local churches will be providing activity tables at no cost.
Downtown businesses will be hosting the “Search For The Golden Easter Egg,” which is a clue search for a prized golden egg. Each participant must register for the search at 10 a.m. at the Market Street Events Center at 115 North Market St.
Children will receive a packet that contains instructions, an egg card, and the first clue. All clue stops are located within a short distance. Each stop will have a unique stamp that will be placed on an “egg-spress” card.
Children must be accompanied by an adult to ensure safety when crossing streets. Winning is not determined by finding the golden egg first, but by turning in a completed egg card. Two cards will be picked to win two $50 Young Savers Cash Dividends from Union Bank.
In case of rain, all prize eggs from the Saline County Courthouse hunt will be distributed inside the different “Search for the Golden Egg” clue stops, and activities will be held inside the Republican Party Headquarters at the corner of North Market and Sevier streets.
Local community and church groups participating include the Benton Senior Activity Center, Gateway Church, Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Saline Memorial Auxiliary, Saline County Girl Scouts, Mayor Rick Holland’s staff, Saline County Master Gardeners and Downtown Benton. All of the Easter adventures are organized by Downtown Benton.
