Ione Marie Mannz Gribler, 88, of O’Fallon, Ill., passed away March 27, 2008, at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center, Lebanon, Ill. She was born Aug. 6, 1919, to Lawrence and Margaret Dawson Ardison of Collinsville, Ill. She attended Collinsville schools and later worked at the local sewing factory. She was married to Wilmer Mannz from Oct. 9, 1937, until his death in 1967. Ione married Robert Gribler in O’Fallon, Ill., on Aug. 6, 1982, and deeply mourned his passing on July 24, 2005. She retired from PN Hirsch in 1984, was a member of the O’Fallon United Church of Christ and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 805 Women’s Auxiliary in O’Fallon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and a grandson, Anthony Mannz. Mourning her passing are a daughter, Patricia Goheen and husband Richard of Benton; a son, Ronald Mannz and wife Sandra of Redwood Falls, Minn; her beloved grandchildren, Christopher Goheen and wife Suzanna of Vienna, Va., Angela Marie Thennes of Benton, Michael Mannz and wife Jean of Redwood Falls, Minn., Andrea Marshall and husband Andy of Owattona, Minn., and Robert “Jake” Goheen of Benton; great-grandchildren, including Anthony Natale of University of Central Arkansas, Jennifer Goheen of University of Illinois, Michael Goheen of Vienna, Va., Bethany Thennes of Benton, Jared and Riley Becker of Owattona, Minn., Calvin, Nichele and Jarrett Mannz, all of Redwood Falls, Minn. Ione is also survived by three dear sisters, Catherine Simon of Alton, Ill., Hazel Fitzpatrick of Little Rock and Faye Mondy of Lakeside, Calif. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2008, at the Wolfersberger Funeral Home Chapel, O’Fallon, Ill., with the Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Interment was at O’Fallon City Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O’Fallon, Ill.
