Margaret Ruth Clayton, 67, of Benton died Thursday, April 10, 2008, in Little Rock. She was born April 14, 1940, in Benton, La., to John and Myrtis Shockley Caldwell. Mrs. Clayton was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Layfield; and two sisters, Shelba Frame and Melba Cotton. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Scott of Benton; a daughter, Sheila Gee of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Bobby Layfield of Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Johnette Burton of Nashville, Tenn., Maxine Hayes of Bossier City, La., and Thelma Walters of Oklahoma; a brother, Boyce Caldwell of Bossier City, La.; and four grandchildren, Christopher Harrison of Grady, Daniel Harrison of Orlando, Fla., B.J. Layfield of Shreveport, La. and Tanya Layfield of Destin, Fla. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Jesse Partridge officiating. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tamaha Cemetery in Tamaha, Okla. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
