About 90 Harmony Grove kindergarten students, above, shout “USA! USA!” and wave American flags to welcome home Army Spc. Curtis Evans before school starts on Thursday in Haskell. Evans’ son, T.C., is a kindergarten student at Harmony Grove and had not seen his dad in 15 months since he began a tour of duty in Iraq. Evans also was greeted by his wife, Christy; 2-year-old son, Tyler; and mother-in-law, Diann Cockrell of Hot Springs.
Below, 5-year-old T.C. Evans, center, poses for a photo with his father, Curtis Evans, along with nearly 90 of his classmates after the children held a special welcome home celebration for the Army specialist upon his return from Iraq. (Courier photos by Matt Burks)
