A century-old home at North East and Cross streets burns late Tuesday. Fire Marshal Bruce Armstrong said arson is suspected in the fire, which was discovered about 10:30 p.m. The structure, once the home of the John Shepherd Phillips family, was owned by Lib Carlisle and had been converted to apartments, occupied by two families. No injuries occurred.
