Bryant police are investigating but still need the help of local residents in locating a robbery suspect from Monday’s hold-up at a Bryant bank.
“We have a couple of leads we are following, but we don’t have any new information to report,” Sgt. Harold Edmonson said. At 2:14 p.m. Monday, a white male entered the Metropolitan National Bank at 3109 N. Reynolds Road and handed a teller a note demanding money. The note reportedly demanded tens, twenties and fifties and told the teller to not put any tracking devices in the bag. Edmonson said the suspect never showed a weapon and he reportedly left the bank headed in an unknown direction. He also said police don’t know whether or what kind of vehicle the man may have left in. “As far as a description, we can only go by the video snapshots from the bank,” Edmonson said. “It looks like he is about 6 foot 1 inches, somewhere between early to mid-forties and maybe about 200 pounds.” Edmonson that the teller was “shaken up” but is doing well. Police are not releasing how much money the suspect stole during the robbery. People with any information about the robbery or the suspect are asked to call the Bryant Police Department at 847-0211.
