Robbie Busby Hobbs, age 79, of Covington, Va., died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va. Her death suddenly and was unexpected.
Mrs. Hobbs was born March 6, 1929, in Caldwell, Ark., and was the daughter of Bruce Busby and Mary Lindsey Busby.
She grew up in Moro and after graduating high school she and her family moved to Marianna. In 1948, she married Elmo Hobbs and continued to live in Arkansas until they moved to Houston, Miss., in 1973. In 1976, they moved back to Arkansas until her husband’s death in 1987. At that time, she moved to Covington, Va., to live with her daughter, Lynn, and her family. She loved living in Virginia. She loved its beauty and majesty. But most of all, she loved being with her daughter and her grandchildren.
She had one daughter, Amy Lee Hobbs, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by three children, Lynn Hobbs Mulligan and Elizabeth “Libby” Hobbs of Covington, Va., and Bruce Hobbs and wife Susan Krause Hobbs of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandsons, Major Christopher Mulligan and wife Michelle, Shawn Mulligan and wife Anne, Ryan Mulligan and Richie Hobbs; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Mulligan and Kailyn Mulligan; a sister, Marilyn Dickson of West Memphis; a brother, Bruce Murphy Busby of Benton; three nieces; and three nephews.  
Services for Mrs. Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Forrest City with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home.
