Beatrice Mae Gipson Brosius, 83, of Benton died Monday, May 12, 2008 at Saline Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Crane, Mo., to C.W. and Meta Mae Hilton Gipson. Mrs. Brosius spent much of her life in Cotter and attended old Cotter High School, where she was a member of the Class of 1942. She retired from Central Arkansas Development Council in Malvern and Benton after many years of service. Survivors include four children, Richard O. Kendrick of Corbin, Ky., Dr. Annette Brosius Lemons of Fayetteville, Lynden Lee Roland “Skeeter” Brosius of Benton and Mark Douglas Brosius of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Family comments: The family extends its gratitude to Saline Memorial Hospice for its tender, professional care-giving skills and excellent, unprecedented medical services. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, embroidery and various handcrafts. She was well-known in her community for delicious pies, cakes and delectable breads. She was active with neighborhood Bible studies and the women’s Bible class at Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
