HONORING CANCER SURVIVORS |
|

Monday, 19 May 2008 |
Cancer survivors of all ages take the first lap around the track at the Benton High School practice field to kick off the 2008 Saline County Relay for Life on Friday evening. About 25 teams have been raising money in preparation for the event, which benefits the American Cancer Society. During the all-night relay each team tries to keep at least one person walking on the track at all times, signifying that cancer never sleeps. With the theme the “Greatest Walk on Earth,” numerous teams had their booths set up with circus games. Related photos, page 5. (Courier photo by Jillian Duke)
