Walter Charles Scott, 85, of Benton, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., died Saturday, May 17, 2008.
He was born Oct. 24, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Scott was retired from General Motors Co. and served in the Army and Marines. He worked for the FBI and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nora Scott; his first wife, Gloria Nadine Scott; a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Sanders; a brother, Virgil Scott; and a sister, Ida Trammell.
Survivors include his wife, Nyoka Scott; seven children, Michael Scott, Gloria Ann Scott, Gary Scott, Susan Sanders, Jane Scott, Joan Staley and Jean Scott Thornberg; a brother, William Scott; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home.
There will be a visitation Wednesday and a service Thursday in St. Louis, Mo., under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice.
