Ron Tate has been named advertising director of the Courier and Bryant Banner.
The Oklahoma native previously served as ad director at the Parsons Sun in Kansas, a Harris Publications newspaper. “I’ve worked with Ron before in Hope, and I am pleased to bring him to our community,” Jim Perry, publisher, said. “Ron brings a wealth of experience and has a strong background in newspaper advertising.” Tate, 41, was raised in Poteau, Okla., and has spent 24 years in the newspaper industry. He is a former publisher at the DeSoto Times Today in Hernando, Miss., and worked for Gannett Co. Inc. as an advertising manager for the Muskogee Phoenix in Oklahoma. “For the last 10 years, I have been either an advertising director for small dailies or in other roles,” Tate said. He and his wife, Stella, have four children: Eliza, 23, of Kansas; Ray, 21, of Oklahoma; Jackie, 18, a college student in Kansas; and Charlie, 15, who is moving to Saline County with his parents. “My family is excited about moving to this beautiful area of Arkansas,” Tate said. “I look forward to working and being a part of the communities in Saline County.”
