IDA orientation scheduled June 16 in Benton; Bryant center plans driving class |

Central Arkansas Develop-ment Council will hold an individual development ac-count orientation at 6 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the Arkansas Workforce Center, 309 S. East St. in Benton.
Applications will be handed out at the orientation. IDAs are matched savings accounts that can provide money to open or expand a small business, help pay for college expenses, purchase a house or make home repairs. People who qualify may receive up to $2,000 per individual or $4,000 per family. To be eligible, a person or family must meet income guidelines, which for this program is 185 percent of the federal poverty level. Based on these guidelines, a one-person household must make less than $1,603 per month to qualify. For each additional family member, add $555 to the monthly income to determine eligibility.
Bryant senior center plans driving class on June 17
Bryant Senior Activity Center will sponsor an AARP driver safety program from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 17. The program is open to drivers 55 and older. There is a $10 fee per person. The Bryant senior center is at 702 SW Fourth St. Senior centers give adults 60 and older support and encouragement to reach new levels of independence, fostering educational and emotional wellness for persons, a spokesperson said. The Bryant senior center is a division of Central Arkan-sas Development Council.
