Arkie A. Evans, 65, of Poyen, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 1, 2008. She was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Benton to William and Pauline Glenn. Arkie was of Baptist faith and worked as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Henry Glenn; a sister, Lorene Kouma; an infant son; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include a son, Alvin Evans and wife Amanda of Poyen; six daughters, RoseAnn Glenn of Benton, Eva Scudder and husband Woodrow of Tull, Diane Scudder and husband Robert of Tull, Rebecca Ross and husband John of Sheridan, Nancy Williams and husband James of Traskwood, Lesha Marshall and husband David of Shaw; five brothers, Curtis Glenn of Glen Rose, Dennis Glenn of Benton, Gann Glenn of Malvern, James Glenn of Cabot and Eddie Glenn of Tull; two sisters, Lena Holdridge of Ft. Worth, Texas and Rosie Ammons of Bauxite; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends. Pallbearers will be Jason Glenn, Michael Glenn, Jody Marshall, Aaron Scudder, Randy Scudder, Sam Scudder. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Young and Bubba Albright. Chapel service by Ashby Funeral Home will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor David Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Ashby Funeral Home. Friends and family will gather at 615 Dalewood in Benton. |
