Thomas R. Sr. and Jill. S. Estes E-mail
Thursday, 03 July 2008

Our hearts were broken June 30, 2008, when our precious parents, Thomas R. Sr. and Jill S. Estes, were taken from us.
Thomas, born Dec. 28, 1953, in St. Louis, Mo., carried on a family tradition by working for over 30 years for Union Pacific Railroad. Respected by all who knew him, Tom was the Wizard of Oz, the man behind the curtain, who kept everything in working order. He showed his love by taking care of his family. Never at a loss when asked for help, Tom would find an answer to any question and carry any task through to completion. A simple man, but his technical knowledge and expertise were surpassed by few.
Jill was born March 13, 1954, in St. Louis, Mo. After staying at home to raise her two preschool-aged children, Jill spent nearly 20 years working for Pulaski County Special School District. She is loved by the many special children she attended. A caregiver by nature, she wore her heart for all to see. Jill was a natural with children and animals. She was the go-to lady for sick or lost creatures. Jill was kind and gentle and let everyone know she loved them.
Tom and Jill were married May 26, 1973, in St. Louis, Mo. They resided for over 20 years in Sherwood, Ark. Children are daughter Jaime Steed and husband Patrick of Springdale and Thomas Estes Jr. and wife Kristina of Alexander as well as grandson Logan Estes of Alexander. Tom and Jill were special parents to puppies Webster and Reggie Ray, cats, Stevie and Itty, and many other pets.
They are preceded in death by their parents, Jack Estes of St. Louis, Mo., and Edward Weber Sr. and Isabel Weber of St. Louis, Mo.
In addition to their children and grandson, they are survived by a mother, Mazie Estes of Sherwood; two sisters, Brenda Whittley and husband Sonny of Imperial, Mo. and Sandra Behlmann and husband Arthur of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother Edward Weber, Jr. and wife Lisa of Florissant, Mo.; and a host of friends and family.
Services will be handled by Hutchens Mortuary in Florissant, Mo., with burial at Freidens Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
A memorial service will be at Woody’s Sherwood Forest in Sherwood, Ark., from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 18.
In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, AR 72210 or www.warmhearts.org.
