Animal issues on agenda E-mail
Monday, 14 July 2008
Hot Springs Village to host Quorum Court meeting This month’s Saline County Quorum Court meeting will be held in Hot Springs Village.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ponce de Leon Performing Arts Center.
Justices of the peace meet in Hot Springs Village at least once a year by invitation of the Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association.
Serving on the Quorum Court from the gated community is JP Tom Lish.
Jennifer Ahart of Alexander is expected to address the Quorum Court about animal issues in the county. Ahart’s two miniature horses were attacked by dogs last month and later died.
Also on the agenda are numerous appropriation ordinances: $18,069.13 for the Office of Emergency Management; $1,000 for courthouse Christmas lights; $352.45 for Quorum Court dues and subscriptions; $8,500 for part-time help for maintenance; $30,170 for property purchase on West Sevier Street for parking; and $2,653.40 for voluntary tax for the emergency warning system.
JPs also will consider appointing Dr. Cara Burris to a two-year term as Saline County health officer to fill the position of Dr. Sam Taggart, who has resigned.
